Informatics Corporation of America integrates patient care and improves health through the use of information technology. It’s an industry that’s been bombarded by government regulations. Our audience was Chief Information Officers and Chief Medical Information Officers. I had imagined CIOs as early adopters of technology, people who were waiting in line for the newest iPhone or tablet, people led by their right brain. But I learned that they typically are left brain – structured, smart, methodical, measured. These wonderful left-brain thinkers lead ICA and historically their sales and marketing materials have leaned in that direction. ICA brought us in to move their message from “what” to “why?”
This was easy. I have a personal understanding of the “why” because I am the primary caregiver for my mother. She has congestive heart failure. I use the tools developed by this innovative group to help manage her care. These tools have helped her live longer and with a better quality of life.
